Dominika Knapik

Dancer, actress and a choreographer.

Graduate of The Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Cracow (PWST), co-founder of Harakiri Farmers and vice-president of Association for Humanistic Initiatives in Arts Sztruks.

In 2007 she was a DanceWeb Scholarship holder and created her debut solo performance “how do you like me?” in Art Stations Foundation in Poznan (SOLO PROJECT 2007). Solo was presented, among others, at the Polish Dance Platform in 2008. The self-referential performance, without any narration or emotional expression, determined the style of her future works. She was colaborating as a dancer with Gymnastics Association “Nothing” and with Dada von Bzdulow Theatre („Le Sacre”, „Celebration or last time and once again!”). She was an ArtsLink Residency holder in 2009 (Dance New Amsterdam, NY).

In 2012 she organized and curated a mini-festival „New dance in old Kraków” and in the same year she started to cooperate (together with Wojtek Klimczyk) as dance curator for Krakow Theatrical Reminiscences. Since 2012 she has been working as a guest teacher at The Ludwik Solski State Drama School in Cracow (PWST).

She is regularly collaborating with with drama theatres in Poland as choreographer (among others with Anna Augustynowicz, Lena Frankiewicz, Iga Gańczarczyk, Bogdan Hussakowski, Maja Kleczewska, Paweł Łysak, Radek Rychcik, Rafał Sabara, Anna Smolar)
